A new year and a new school government is elected


















. . . where we are "developing the future of the community through our children". Our village has been evolving over the years - first a road, then a few houses, then a church, then a school. Our school is situated in a small rural village 3km north of the city of Alajuela in the community of Tuetal Sur.
A balance of education and culture


The "escuela" is not just the center of our community it is the future of our country. What happens here is simply the development of those that will carry the torch for what Costa Rica become known for throughout the world - a peace loving country committed to the environment.

The little school of 350 children from pre-school to age 12, has become the de facto center of our local community and continues to evolve. Thanks to the work of the teachers, the director, the staff, the parents and the community of Tuetal and the municipality of Alajuela and the assistance of Fundacion Educar this has become, what we think of as a model school for a Costa Rican village.

OUR MISSION:

To create a caring and supportive environment for the students of the village where they can safely develop their skills and potential in harmony with their neighbors, their parents and society.

WEB SITE INFORMATION

We the parents, teachers, kids and community of Tuetal Sur have developed this web site with a goal to support the future health of the community through the children of the neighborhood. The web site is here to teach the children about the internet and to find new ways to support access to information (though the school library and the internet).
